1[καὶ] ἀναγράψαι αὐτοὺς εὐεργέτας τοῦ δήμου τοῦ̣ Σ̣[αμίων καὶ στε]–
2[φα]νῶσαι αὐτοὺς χρυσῶι στεφάνωι καὶ ἀναγγεῖλαι τ̣ὸν ἱερ[οκή]–
3[ρ]υκα Διονυσίων τραγωιδοῖς ἐν τῶι θεάτρωι ἐπ᾿ ὀνόματος ἕκαστον
4πατρόθεν, ὅτι «ὁ δῆμος ὁ Σαμίων στεφανοῖ τοὺς δικαστὰς καὶ το̣[ὺ]–
5[ς] προξένους τοὺς παραγενομένους̣ ἐκ Κῶ δικάσαντ̣α̣ς Σ[α]μίοις̣

14[ἐ]φ᾿ ἵσηι καὶ ὁμοί̣αι καὶ ἐπιψηφίσαι τὸν δῆμον ἐν ἀρχαιρεσίαις κα̣[τ]ὰ τὸν [νό]–
15μον, τοὺς δὲ πρυτάνεις τοὺς πρυτανεύοντας τὸμ μῆνα τ̣[ὸν Ἀν]θεσ[τη]–
16[ρι]ῶνα προαγαγεῖν ὑπὲρ τῆς πολειτ̣είας καὶ τῆς προξενία̣ς, ὅπως ὁ δῆμο[ς]
17διαψηφίσηι καθότι ἐν τῶι νόμωι γέγραπται· ἐὰν δέ τινε̣[ς α]ὐ̣τῶν βούλω̣ντα[ι]
18ο̣ἰκεῖν ἐν Σάμωι, εἶναι αὐτοῖς ἀτέλειαν ὧν ἂν εἰσάγ̣ωνται, καὶ <ἐὰν> ἐξάγε̣[ιν]
19βούλωνται τούτων τι, ἀτελῆ ἐξαγέτωσαν· ταῦτα δὲ ὑπ[ά]ρχειν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐκ–
20γόνοις· ὅπως δὲ πάντες εἰδῶσ[ι]ν τὰ ἐψηφισμέν[α Σαμίο]ις περὶ τῶν
21[δ]ικαστῶν καὶ τῶν προξένων, τὸγ γραμματέα τῆς βου̣λ̣ῆς ἀναγράψα[ι]
22τ̣ὸ ψήφισμα τόδε εἰστήλας λιθίνας δύο καὶ στῆσα[ι μί]αμ μὲν εἰς τὸ [ἱ]–
23ε̣ρὸν τῆς Ἥρας, τὴν δὲ μίαν, ὅταν αἱ τῆς βασιλίσσης Φ̣ίλας τιμα[ὶ]
24συντελεσθῶσι, εἰς τὸ τέμενος τὸ ἀποδειχθὲν Φίλαι, τὸν δὲ οἰκον[ό]–
25μον εἰς τὸ ἀνάλωμα ὑπηρε̣τῆσαι· ἑλέσθαι δὲ καὶ πρεσβευτὴν εἰς Κῶν,
26ὅστις τό τε ψήφισμα ἀποίσει καὶ ἀξιώσει τὸν δῆμον ψηφίσασθαι, ὅ–
27π̣ως ἀναγραφὲν ἐν στήληι ἀνατεθῆι εἰς ἱερὸν οὗ ἂν ὁ δῆμος ψηφί̣σ[η]–

1und man sie aufschreibe als Wohltäter des Volkes der Samier und sie bekränze
2mit goldenem Kranz, und dass ausrufe der Festherold
3bei den Dionysien an den Tragödienaufführungen im Theater einen jeden mit Namen
4und Vatersnamen: “Das Volk der Samier ehrt die Richter und die
5proxenoi, die aus Kos gekommen sind und den Samiern entschieden haben
6die Rechtsfälle richtig und gerecht”; dass für die Verkündung Sorge trage
7der Veranstalter der Spiele zusammen mit dem demiourgos; dass ihnen sein sollen auch
8freie Ein- und Ausfahrt ungestört und ohne Vertrag im Krieg und im Frieden; dass
9man ihnen gebe auch einen Ehrensitz bei allen Spielen, die die Stadt ausrichtet;
10dass ihnen sein solle auch bevorrechtigter Zutritt zu dem Rat und dem Volk, wenn sie etwas begehren,
11gleich nach den religiösen und königlichen Angelegenheiten; dass sich ihrer annehmen sollen
12die jeweils im Amt befindlichen Amtsträger, falls sie etwas bedürfen; dass sie sein sollen
13auch proxenoi der Stadt; dass man ihnen gebe auch das Bürgerrecht mit voller
14Gleichberechtigung und das Volk hierüber beschließe bei den Beamtenwahlen nach
15dem Gesetz, die im Monat Anthesterion amtierenden Prytanen
16aber die Angelegenheit bezüglich Bürgerrecht und Proxenie soweit befördern, dass das Volk
17den Beschluss fassen kann, wie im Gesetz geschrieben ist; wenn jemand von ihnen in Samos
18Wohnsitz nehmen will, dass ihnen Steuerbefreiung sei für das, was eingeführt wird, und wenn sie
19etwas ausführen wollen, sollen sie es steuerfrei ausführen; dass dies sein soll für sie und ihre
20Nachkommen; - damit aber alle sehen die Beschlüsse der Samier über die
21Richter und die proxenoi , dass der Sekretär des Rates aufschreibe
22diesen Beschluss auf zwei steinerne Stelen und aufstelle die eine in das
23Heiligtum der Hera, die andere, sobald die für Königin Phila beschlossenen Ehren
24ausgeführt sind, in den der Phila geweihten Tempel; dass der Verwalter
25für die Kosten aufkomme; dass man einen Gesandten nach Kos wähle,
26der den Beschluss überbringen und das Volk bitten wird, zu beschließen,
27dass dieser auf einer Stele aufgeschrieben und geweiht wird in das Heiligtum, wo es das Volk
28beschließe, und dass sie auch bei sich die den Richtern und den proxenoi
29gegebenen Ehrungen verkünden, so wie bei uns.
30Beschluss des Volkes, Eperatos S. d. Philtes stellte den Antrag: Das übrige so wie
31Battos und Hermodikos (beantragten, aber): dass diesen Beschluss übersenden sollen
32die Prytanen und der Verwalter nach Kos an die proxenoi , die den
33Gerichtshof (zu uns) geführt haben, und sie bitten, dass sie alles ausführen
34gemäß dem Beschluss.

1and to register them as benefactors of the people of the Samians and
2crown them with a gold crown, and the sacred herald is to proclaim
3at the tragedy competitions of the Dionysia in the theater each one by name
4and father’s name: “The people of the Samians crowns the judges and
5proxenoi who came from Kos and for the Samians judged
6the cases fairly and justly”; the proclamation is to be seen to
7by the agonothete together with the demiourgos; they are also to have import
8and import rights immune from seizure and without treaty in both war and peace;
9they are to be given front-row seating at all the contests that the city holds;
10they are also to have access to the council and people if they need anything,
11immediately after sacred and royal items; the magistrates in office are to see to them
12if they happen to be in need of anything; they are 
13also to be proxenoi of the city; they are also to be granted citizenship
14on equal and like terms and the people is to vote on this at the elections in keeping
15with the law; the prytaneis in office in the month Anthesterion
16are to make the proposal concerning citizenship and proxeny, so that the people
17ratify it as is prescribed by law; if any of them wish 
18to reside in Samos, they are to have lax exemption on what they import, and if they
19wish to export any of those things, let them export tax-free; these things are valid for them and their
20descendants; so that all may know the things voted by the Samians concerning the
21judges and proxenoi, the secretary of the council is to inscribe
22this decree on two stone steles and set one in the
23temple of Hera the other, once the honors of queen Phila
24have been carried out, in the precinct designated for Phila; the oikonomos
25is responsible for the cost; also to elect an ambassador to Kos
26who will deliver the decree and ask the people to vote that
27it be inscribed on a stele and erected in whatever temple the people might
28vote, and to proclaim also among them the honors given to the 
29judges and proxenoi as among us.
30It was decreed by the people, Eperatos son of Philtes proposed: the rest as proposed by
31Battos and Hermodikos: but also the prytaneis and the oikonomos are to
32send this decree to Kos to the proxenoi
33who brought the panel of judges and ask them do everything
34here written.
